A couple weeks ago I was on vacation in Washington, DC and I was staying at a hotel close to the national capitol. As part of our travel around the city we used the Metro and the closest one to our hotel was Capitol South. Well I noticed really quick that the metro station was covered with advertising talking about debt. It wasn’t until the second time that I saw it that I realized it was an effort to make people aware of our national deficit. The sign had a number close to 12 trillion, and of course the number changes every second so by the time I saw the sign our national spending deficit had hit the $12 trillion mark.
Anyways the website that is all over the banners is Defeatthedebt.com. I stopped and made a quick video next to a signage that had their logo and I wanted to share it with you today. Please take a moment to visit their website about how we can defeat the debt and create an awareness so our future kids do not have to deal with our financial mess. This is a huge issue that is constantly being overlooked from one generation to the next. We are started to see a slight ripple effect from this in our economy today. I’ll go ahead and post some of the other videos that they have on their website, these are commercials that they have created as well to tell people about this epidemic.
I thought this was an interesting post in regards to building awareness. It’s really sad once you really take the time to ponder on it. Thanks again!
