Well my wife and I made it back from our European vacation. Do you like this picture of me holding the Eiffel Tower in my hand?
I purposely wore my Debt Free Hispanic t-shirt so I can take this picture. How did I get here though?
Well my wife and I found out in March of 2010 that we are expecting a child. Yes, it’s true, we are having a child in which we will bring into this world debt free. As soon as we found out she was pregnant we started making plans to go on a nice vacation and there is no better place to go to then Europe. We actually took an 8 day vacation which turned out to be an adventure to Paris and London.
A big turning point in our decision was getting a nice size tax refund from the government. Some people use their refund for paying off debt, but we used it to go on vacation. I have never been to Europe but my wife had so it was a special time for us and hands down the best vacation I have ever been on with my wife. There is so much history in Paris and London and so much to see that we were always busy.
Our vacation turned into an adventure when we landed and we heard that a volcano in Iceland erupted sending a plume of ash into the sky and wind took it towards Europe. This made all airports in Europe close and so our flight to London from Paris was cancelled since Air France was not in operation.
My wife and I still had an amazing time in France. The currency was hard to understand because the Euro was not as much as the dollar and so something that looked cheap really was more expensive than we thought. In my next blog post i’m going to share about how the volcano ash changed our plans and how much more money we had to spend due to the airport closures.
I highly recommend you take your wife or husband to the city of love, it was so romantic and laid back. My wife and I were able to connect and talk like never before, it was amazing i’m blessed to have had the opportunity and finances to make the vacation of my life come true.
