Have you thought of selling your home lately? My wife and I have. We often contemplate selling and moving closer to work.
Then we start to think about living in a luxury apartment close to restaurants and not out in the suburbs of town.
We looked into apartments and let me tell you that people are paying good money for a small amount of space. Property owners are making a killing by having their building in a prime location. Of course just like everything else, location is the key.
But what if I wanted to sell my home, am I going to get what I want? Probably not, I would have to be willing to walk away from my house and not expect much of a profit. See i’ve discovered the comparisons of homes that have sold in my area are cheaper than what I want to sell my house for. Granted, those houses were forclosures and need more work than my house needs but still those prices will keep me from selling my home at a price that I want.
If I were to sell my home, this would be the first home that I would have sold and I purchased it at a foreclosure price just before the market went under so to speak.
But I wondered what people in others areas are facing when it comes to buying and selling homes. Dallas, TX real estate has not dropped much and is still considered as one of the cities to move to in regards to jobs. So i’m still trying to make a decision to sell or not and it will be interesting to see what the market says about my home. There is already a house for sale down the street from me and it’s been on the market for close to a year, yikes.
