Seems like everywhere people look they see those logos from VISA and Mastercard. The logos make people feel like they have money so they use them. These credit sharks are the smartest marketers. They know how to get people to sign their life away. Think about it, what has caused you to sign by the X__________________
My list of reasons why I signed:
- To get the Houston Astros logo on the MasterCard, (MBNA)
- To get a Houston Astros shirt (MBNA)
- In case I needed a lawn mower (SEARS)
- Just because they let me open one (Wells Fargo)
- Because I starting a Business Checking (Wells Fargo)
- To purchase a camcorder (Circuit City)
- To Rack up the Rewards
What is your list of reasons to sign up for Credit Cards?
@-Debt Free, just recently became debt free as well and I can’t stand it whenever I call citibank for something; there always pitching this 10,000 dollar personal loan to me, it always gets me pissed off. So to get back at them I use there credit cards for all the purchases I would have made anyway and rack up on there cash back. I’ve already made over $100 from my Chase Freedom and I love getting 5% off my gas from Discover.
If you can resist the temptation to use those cards for un-neaded purchases then take advantage of the credit agencies by playing them at their own game.
Thanks Joshua for your comment. Congrats on your becoming debt free. Credit card sharks are a pain. I had the hardest time getting them canceled, of course I made them do it in writing.
